The project aims at development of a tool supporting in the process of selection of travel destination in reference to vast set of criteria. Service region was divided into 5 km wide cells, which were denoted with information on climate, air quality, landscape, services availability, accessibility, popularity and costs. Accessing comprehensive description of all potential destinations over Europe increases likelihood of making informed and reasonable decision.
Total set of potentially possible destinations could be divided into divided into three categories: destinations that user is not aware of, unavailable destinations, which are not possible to reach under assumed conditions and remining set fulfilling requirements of availability and awareness to be further considered. The proposed solution is expected to limit the unawareness of available options by expanding the user’s informational base. Accessing comprehensive description of all potential destinations over Europe increases likelihood of making informed and reasonable decision.
A thorough understanding of tourists’ behaviour and quite complex factors influencing tourists’ destination choices, i.e. the ability to observe, listen, analyse and derive the right conclusions is obviously one of two main prerequisites indispensable to fulfil the revealed expectations.
The second one, equally or even more important not only for the consumers but also for the businesswise performance in the marketplace as a service provider/producer is the ability to come up with a standing-out service and/or product, tailored to meet recognised customer demands and then to plan, develop and launch it in a well-structured, well-designed and controlled manner.
